  • If you look at most welterweights, that's what they weigh by fight time.

      (this should be epic)

This isn't a bodybuilding contest. If huge muscles were an advantage, everybody would look like arnold.

Muscles are good for short burst of energy, but they're not beneficial for long periods of exertion. Look to fighters like Vargas, Jeff Lacy and George foreman who depended on their strength and muscles what happened when they didn't knock their opponents out after the 6th round.

That's why sprinters have humongous legs and marathon runners are skinny and wiry.

And boxing is a marathon sport. Unless you're fighting Manny Pacquiao, in that case it's a marathon sprint.

          • What is EDC?

Anyway, I heard a guy at work today saying he can't miss game 7, and he sounded sad he might miss the fight. He was hoping for two knockouts: Heat>Celtics and Bradley>Pac. I hope for the same.

Bradley has the muscles, but watching him again, he is a lot slower than I remember and telegraphs. Pac will tag him all day long and win.

Remember speed in boxing is probably the most deciding factor because the art that we follow is is specialised, and you can get strength by weight training, you can get ripped by hard work and dieting, you can get cardio by running, but power and speed, you can't teach it.
Speed is important but there are other import factors too.

Trouble is Pacquiao tops all of those too

                Speed
                Power
                Defense
                Footwork
                Workrate/Stamina
                Gameplan/Tactics
                Intangibles
                Heart
                Technique

Pacquiao has the edge on them all.

Tim Bradley looks HUGE for 146 lbs.
You mean Bradley looks muscular and cut , 146 is 146 .

Bodybuilding doesnt translate to flexibility speed or chin .

I looked it up couldn't find anything about catchweights, maybe I should use Yahoo?

Boxers have wallets first then pride.
