Great post, solid opinions. Would appreciate some links though. Can anyone confirm that Gamboa showed up to the conference unaware that it was cancelled? And what was TR's excuse for not allowing him to participate in the weigh in??

Why can't guys win the belt the correct way? That is by beating the champ, not finding loopholes and fighting lower-level contenders. If Mikey wanted the belt and Gamboa had it, then beat Gamboa himself.

Exactly. That's my problem. I don't care about the belt or anything related to it, it's the politics behind I don't like. You just can't take a belt from a champ and give it to someone else and make him a champ. If random situations made that happen there is no problem with me. But a promoter pulling strings just to have a third champion is unacceptable to me.

I'm sorry, but his brother Robert publicly declared in a recent interview that Mikey wasn't ready for Gamboa yet. That's where my info came from. Kellerman watched the same interview and mentioned it during the fight. Actually, I thought it was common knowledge. I won't go through youtube right now because I'm lazy but I'm pretty sure someone can go find it if really interested. Oh and of course Mikey think he's ready, he wouldn't be a fighter worth mentioning if he didn't have that winner mentality.

Does any one have a feeling that gamboa will jump ship bc he is not being treated right? He has stated that he wants the fight with lopez right now or a fight with chris john which he will he get neither. And now this i wouldnt be surprised if he moved to golden boy.

Confirmed. Roy Jones makes a comment about guys not wanting to fight Gamboa at about 9:55. Max Kellerman makes the comment about Garcia not being ready at about 10:10.
