If he knocks out Ortiz, I'm not sure how much good it'll do him considering the current perception (which may not be wrong) of Victor as damaged goods.

Though I'm looking forward to this fight, depending upon the accuracy of the perception mentioned above, it might not be the smartest matchmaking on the part of camp Berto.

If Berto wins there are those that will trumpet that he beat a ruined prospect who was coming up in weight.

If he loses, the same folks will probably say that Berto was an overrated hype-job from the word go.

      I voted "I dunno'',btw.

Personally, I like the fight and if he wins it is good. Ortiz is a big puncher and was a big JWW.

Also there really is no one else for him at 147. Hopefully after this it will lead to a bigger fight:

Maybe Paul Williams will take him on seems like it could be a favorable matchup for Paul.

If a Floyd - Pac fight falls through (again) I would like to see Berto take on Floyd or Pac.

I would like to see Berto take on the winner of Cotto-Marg at 154 too, that would be a great fight.

And obviously the showdown against Mike Jones would be a great fight.

I've talked **** on Berto plenty of times but him taking on Ortiz is a step in the right direction.

Berto will overwhelm Ortiz with his speed. Dre is WAY to fast for Vic.

            They're not gonna say shit.

            They're gonna fucking hate.

Even though their is no fucking body else to fight at WW, and fucking Kermit Cintron has proved to be a big ass bitch that is only good 4 crying. Andre Berto haters are still gonna hate cause he fought some one who was moving up to 147 even if he didn't fight them.
berto could of fought cotto and what happened with shane? and didn't cintron want to fight berto?what happened with that?what happened to a collazo rematch ? i and alot of other people didn't think andre won. in andres last 6 fights including the fight coming up with ortiz he has fought 3 jr welters so 3 of his last 6 opponents were jr welters.andre will get a little credit for beating victor but not as much as victor would if he beats berto

False..... Uncle Bob wasn't interested in that one. Hoe he changes his mind though.

Arum, that's what happened with the Cotto fight, don't act like nothing else happened. Berto wanted Pacquiao and Cotto. Berto also wanted Paul Williams but Dibella didn't let that happened.

You're acting like a new boxing fan, like you don't know promoters have a lot to do with match-ups that don't include Mayweather or Pacquiao[who can pick and choose who they fight].

Shane? There was a god damn earthquake man.

You might be a robot who has no feelings toward losing family, but don't think everyone else is like that. Some people can cope with losing family, others can't. Berto couldn't handle losing family to an earthquake, yeah throw rocks at him for wanting to help. He's such an anti humanitarian.
