It wasn't really rocket science though. Arum had a contract and Golden Boy just jumped overboard. Same thing with Pac. Both were already signed to Top Rank so the contract was in full effect.

Grus I think PBF had a buyout clause in his contract that he had to exercise by a certain date and if he didn't he had to finish out his contract with Top Rank. Don't know if Donaire has a buyout clause. I like you believe a buyout can be negoitated.

Yes. It is supposed to be like that with any contract if your lawyer is smart. Most contracts are supposed to have a termination clause in them by a certain time if the parties involved want to resolve the business between them. All they would have to do is give notice.

I never did keep up with the Pac-GBP-Top Rank contract fiasco. How exactly did Manny manage to get that legal problem out of the way and stayed active? Did he just say, "Ok, I'll pick that promoter," and judge says, "Fine, but the other one can still have promo rights." I hope Nonito doesn't choose to make this more difficult for himself.

I just read that two other promoters passed on signing doniare after they took a look at his contract. That simply CANNOT be true. If it is then gdp has got some serious ****ing problems. They will probably end up wasting thousands of dollars just for pleasure of getting bent over and publicly violated by an 80 year old man...
