Andre Berto truly is a waste of space.I don't know how anyone would want to watch this joker compete over the course of twelve rounds.Perhaps if you enjoy a grown man making girly noises while clutching his opponent in fear of not getting tagged on his ever brittle chin.
The best possible result would be for Ortiz to render Berto unconscious and then announce his retirement soon after.
All I want is another great fight. The Rios v Acosta fight was great for boxing, regardless who won. It was a fight that was competitive and two warriors going at it, that's all I want for this one.
Unfortunately, I don't think this will happen. Ortiz is open to straight right hands, that is not good for him going into this fight. Ortiz has a great right hand and if Maidana can hit him with it, I'm scared what Berto can do to him.
I think Ortiz will have to weather the early storm and make sure he doesn't get caught with something big. If he does, how will he react to it? Will he quit again, will he fold under the pressure?
These are the questions I'm interested in answering because skill wise, Ortiz can hang in there with anyone at 140 IMO. It's his will and heart that will be tested that night.
The result of this fight has no significant consequences for boxing as a whole.
right now it doesn't but that all could change depending on the outcome. Gatti/Ward had no significance to the boxing world but the way both men fought took everyone who watched the first by storm.
Lets hope Berto/Ortiz are willing to lay it all on the line, b/c Berto has a history of making ugly fights with southpaws i.e. Forbes, Urango, Collazo

Pretty unlikely that this ends up a fight ppl really talk about like that one, neither has the most entertaining style especially now since Ortiz is more cautious. I expect alot of circling and hugging.
