After Pac and Floyd retire.. Boxing is it dead??

that is basically what a bunch of sherdoggers are saying.. that once mayweather and pac retire, boxing is dead and mma will be taking over....

i mean there are alot of good up in coming superstars... gamboa, donaire etc...

    but what do you think....

Why don't you tell that to people on Sherdog and not to people that actually follow the sport of boxing.

Sherdog is full of kids and rejects.

They know nothing about the sport, so choose to be ignorant and repeat popular phrases such as:

      Boxing is dead
      Boxing is being swallowed
Boxing is just one aspect of fighting

I can't tell you how many times I've heard these terms on the web. It's laughable. MMA has only like 2 superstar draws too, and one of them isn't any good, and the other one has been losing lately too. Not to mention there star power is no where near Pacs or Mays.

That's the difference between MMA and Boxing. The two most popular guys in the sport are living legends, and will be remembered throughout history. MMA's most popular guys are a freak show wrestler who is 5-2 and BJ Penn who is a overrated 16-7-2 fighter who gases out easy. I suspect both will be losing there star power soon.

Professional boxing has been around for over one hundred years; even longer, if you count the bareknuckle era. It'll survive the retirement of a couple of its superstars.

What commentary is necessary? Is this what the kids call 'self-ownage'?
