Michael Nunn was a great boxer. The way he used the ropes for defense was amazing. But Toney was the first person to beat him. Losing to Toney at that time is no shame. Toney was not out of shape in that fight, like the way he was with Jones. Nunn was actually winning the fight, until Toney caught him. Michael Nunn would've beat the Toney that fought Jones any day.

            Really?

Thats why Tyson beat Ruddock, Seldon, and Bruno right after losing to Douglas?

Tyson wasn't at his best anymore by 89, Tyson's career ended June 88.

Not many people realise when Tyson's peak was, it was four or five fights before Spinks.

You only have to watch Nunn in his early career to see what talent he had, he was so quick and slick and looked impossible to beat. It's hard to put many fighters in that class based on how quick and slick he obviously was before drugs got him. He was better than Roy Jones.
I disagree i think jones would of whupped him, id class tyson as a wasted talent too, and douglas beat him jr because he was ready and mike wasnt but whos fault is that, if a fighter has outside distractions whether its women, drugs, alcohol family issues, whatever if they step into the ring and get beat by someone generally not percieved to be as good then its their own fault they should knuckle down and put right what was wrong, tyson never did that and it bugs me to death that he was incapable of avenging one loss

Not true. That was the partying Tyson going through alot of **** in his personal life. Tyson never trained for the douglas fight, just look at his entrance, it tells the whole story. Tyson never look like that before.

james Toney swept the fight from round seven until he KO'd Nunn.

Please....watch the fight again. By the 7th round....Nunn starting eating big-time right hands, while getting NOTHING done of his own. It got worse & worse for him as the fight went on.
Truthfully, James Toney destroyed Michael Nunn.

Nunn was a very slick guy...but he tended to slap, kept his chin in the air too much....& had an arroagnce about him that ventured into laziness.
He's one of the biggest punks in boxing history, & I loved it when Toney ****D him.

I don't, I think Nunn of 87/88 beats Jones every single time.
