I love Lewis, but he under achieved. And that's the bottom line.
Lennox Lewis should have been undefeated and should have had a serious claim to Ali's #1 spot. Not one of the fighters he fought could have beaten him, but two did.. (He avenged both defeats like a true champion) .
He was also extremely lazy at times, my uncle worked his camps and I got all the inside info.
He trained for the Vitali fight by inventing a game with his friends called
"buffet race" it was basically Lewis going around the buffet table trying to finish his plate of food before he reached the other end..... my uncle said Lennox was laughing and stuffing all kinds of cakes and sweet meats into his greedy mouth prior to the Vitali fight.... that's not how he should have trained.
