That would give Pirog two belts and make him more marketable. The problem with that is I doubt Sturm wants to fight him either...
Pirog should be flying to Germany to fight Sturm before looking at Martinez.

Check_hooks also believes Chavez Jr could knock out Martinez. This is the type poster we're dealing here.

Yet Dibella and Martinez have no problem fighting Zbik/Chavez for the WBC belt he was stripped of.

Also he wasn't stripped specifically for not fighting Pirog. Pirog/Jacobs was for the vacant belt and was supposed to be a gimme fight for Danny. See through excuse so they can pick off weak MW's.

Martinez has stated numerous of times (even before he was stripped) that ideally he wanted to hold on to the WBC belt for the rest of his career because it's the same belt Carlos Manzon held. The WBC belt has sentimental value for him. The WBO belt doesn't. Not fighting Pirog because he was stripped is probably a bad excuse for Dibella (he's just looking for money), but it's not relevant to why Martinez wants the WBC belt back.

Some people are hoping Sergio loses so that he is no longer a threat to the other 2 in the running for the P4P race so they are demanding that he fight Pirog. Martinez would take that fight if that's who they put in front of him and he would whoop him in pretty bad fashion tbh. I saw the Pirog fight today and what he showed was definitely not enough to even remotely bother Martinez (I won't go any further than that as not to spoil it for those who have yet to see it).

I say let's make the fight happen as his summer fight just to get it over with prior to a fall showdown with Cotto on PPV. Kirkland isn't ready yet and I highly doubt that Mayweather or Pac are gonna man up to fight him (unless he has to starve himself to the point of death to make the ww limit for a Pac fight) so that seems like the logical progression for him at this point.

But with a loss on Pirog's record, where would he go from there? Furthermore, will HBO show him after he embarassed Jacobs like he did?

Except for the fact that Martinez isn't being accused of ****, involved in a failing marriage, addicted to ******* and alcohol, have serious mental issues, didn't just lose his surrogate father figure, and a 49-1 favorite to win.

Taking in account all that, I can see the similarities and.............................

                  Poor old Pirog aye.

So the job of ridding the world of the evil Maravilla falls on his shoulders huh?

Well Sturm might actually fight Pirog after this performance. Maybe that was his intention, lol.

Maybe it was LMAO. I could be wrong here, but I actually think that Sturm may be underrated by a lote of analysts/posters. I wonder how his career would have panned out had he fought in the states?
