Comments Thread For: Carl Froch Rips Bute: He Fought Nobody, I'm His Hero!

I completly agree - I am not big on Froch's skills, but he is willing to take on everyone and anyone. Now I never saw the Pascal fight, which I heard was a very good fight, and most definitely an impressive win. But, Taylor was winning up until getting KO'd w/ a few secs left. I also thought Dirrell schooled him. Dirrell wasn't active enough, and it cost him the decision, but I was honestly shocked when Froch got the nod, as I thought Dirrell won at least 8 of 12 rds, if not more. His fight with Kessler was close, but Kessler definitely won, and lastly he looked good against Abraham, but Abraham looked horrendous and through no punches.
Froch will beat Johnson in a tough fight, as he should - Johnson is 41 yrs old and has been in a ton of tough fights the past 5 yrs (Tarver I and II, Dawson I, Woods III, Cloud) After that, there is no doubt Ward schools him. Ward is already a top 10 lb for lb fighter, and is an excellent technician with some power. Ward is just one of those fighters who will do what he has to to win - as he showed by fighting a tough Sakio Bika in a mauling fight.

Froch won't beat Bute, because Kessler will.
Honestly, Bute is going to be for a reality shock when a well rounded world class technician like Mikkel steps in the ring with him. Mikkel isn't Jesse Brinkley or Brian Magee. Kessler tore it up with Froch and won. Andrade has Bute fúcked up and Andrade is b-level in the division. I kind of wish Calz had fought Bute for the IBF, then Bute would be known as "just another bum who Calzaghe slapped up".
Kessler beats Bute, as does Froch but Froch won't need to if Mikkel gets there first.

Just look for yourself, Bute goes down at 0:58 and goes up at 1:06, he definitely beat the clock. He just had bad luck with a blatantly ****** referee making him look bad.
When Bute got back up to his feet he was still out of it,rule says you must be able to defend ya self at all time.
KNOCKDOWN AND KNOCKOUTS:
1. A boxer shall be deemed to be down when any part of his body except his feet are on the floor, or if he is hanging helplessly over the ropes as a result of a legal blow as ruled by the referee, who is the only person authorized to determine this.
2. There will be a mandatory eight (8) count when one of the contestants is knocked off the soles of his feet or d****d helplessly across the ropes. If this occurs, the knockdown timekeeper's count will commence and be picked up by the referee. At this point, the
referee is in control and the knockdown timer will cease counting.
3. When a contestant is knocked down, the referee shall audibly announce the count as he
motions with his right arm downward indicating the end of each second of the count. If
the contestant taking the count is still down when the referee calls the count of ten (10)
the referee will wave both arms indicating the contestant has been knocked out.
4. When a contestant has been knocked down, the referee will order the standing contestant to the farthest neutral corner and begin the count. If the contestant standing leaves the corner before the count has been completed, the referee shall discontinue the count and order the standing contestant back into the corner. The count will not resume until thestanding contestant has returned to the neutral corner.
5. Three (3) knockdowns in any one round do not automatically terminate the fight. If in
the referee's judgment, which must be keen and decisive, the knockdowns have been
indecisive and clearly have no injurious effect upon the boxer, the contest may continue
but with good sense and judgment and the boxer's welfare always paramount.
6. The bell will not save a boxer in any round of the bout. If a boxer is "downed" just
before the 3-minute bell in any round, the referee's count shall continue and the bell will
not ring until the boxer rises and his hands clear the floor.

They just need to get it on after the Super 6 whether either of them has belts on or not. Would be entertaining as ****.
