But thats only in hindsight.......Floyd doesnt get a pass for ducking Margarito because 'Shane Mosley beat him anyway...'

At the time, Pavlik had a lot of heat behind him and LOOKED a serious challenge......who was only exposed by the guy Calzaghe wouldnt rematch, in Hopkins

wouldve liked to see the fight happen, but in this instance you cant blame Calzaghe for taking the money fight against Roy.
A shot RJJ would have even beat pavlik
      I doubt that.

Why would he rematch hopkins when 1. He completely outclassed him, only the idiot woman judge byrd had hopkins up by 1 point, and 2. RJJ was a huge $$ draw still

Why didn't RJJ give james toney a rematch? It's just sillyness when a guy gets utterly destroyed and asked for another try so soon.

what he said ... the funny thing is in hindsight its clear that calzaghe would have handled pavlik easily but at the time pavlik looked like a beast so joe took what he thought was the easier option. Hopkins showed who had the bigger balls when he took on pavlik and whooped him in joe's place.

you must have watched a different fight to me, he barely sc****d to a close decision against hopkins. I thought joe won alright but I wouldn't argue too hard with someone who thought Hopkins edged it. the fact that they gave it to joe was as much down to hopkins being too defensive and not pushing as hard as he should have. With hopkins coming into a rematch with a superior gameplan and knowing he had to throw a few more to guarantee the decision I think he'd have likely edged a decision over Joe in the rematch. But we'll never know cause as somebody above said Joe ducked it. (he's a smart guy our Joe)

Exactly and it would of been a very good win for Calzaghe, had he won.

It was a none starter as Pavlik would have got owned badly..There was a lot of hype after the Taylor fights, About how great Pavlik is..Pav Taylors style suited Pav to the ground..But put him with Jo it would have been another Lacy all over again..

Yeah, that's why Calzaghe didn't take the fight. Cos it would been too easy and Lacy all over again.

For all the retrospective views on Pavlik, let's not forget that it's one of the best wins of B-Hop's career.

That would have been a waste of a fight. Look Bhop destroyed pavlik, and calzaghe destroyed Bhop. It would have been a massacre.

All these boxing noobs saying calzaghe ducked these trashy bums when he went after the 2 top p4p fighters jones and BHOP, and beat them easily.

A shot RJJ would have even beat pavlik
wtf fight were yu watching fanboy. Jones was was not p4p when he fought him. Your high if you think this rjj who got ktfo by danny green in a round would beat him. The only p4p fighter he fought was hopkins and he couldnt even convincingly beat a man way past his best at 44 years old. Your boy is a fraud, whos resume is **** compared to Frochs another fighter he ducked.
How you like that dose of reality
