The Myth about Paul Williams.

90% of people would pick PWill to win that fight.
Not really worth starting a thread to complain about the fact that 10% of people disagree with you.Comment

I think Williams will get back on track but I don't think his promoter will match him up tough for a while, just to regain his confidence again. I've seen a little of Kell Brook but what people have to consider is that Brook will be a freaking midget compared to Williams and who has Brook faced?
I'm with Ceilings on this, I think Williams works him over if they fought.
You guys should really look at the records of the dudes that he has fought.....it is disgusting to say the least.
Peter Buckley 145¼ 31-189-10
Leeroy Williamson 158 12-46-2
Brian Coleman 161 24-139-7
Karl Taylor 155 16-77-6
Ernie Smith 155½ 11-80-3
Ernie Smith 157½ 12-85-4
Ernie Smith 154¼ 13-97-5
Geraint Harvey 51½ 3-26-0
David Kirk 154 11-58-3
I mean are you for real, where the heck did they find this guy Ernie Smith? What a jokeLast edited by mathed; 03-26-2011, 06:41 PM.Comment

Thank you. That loss was bad, and he may have a tough road back, but assuming Williams is done cause he got splattered once is silly. I swear, a bunch of ADD children watch boxing these days: If a guy cant jump multiple divisions, hes garbage. If a fighter gets knocked out, hes through. Etc. etc.Cmon now.
I doesn't usually works that way. unless a freak accident occurred.
John Ruiz was brutally kayoed by Tua but came back to do some decent things.
Duran was KTFO by Hearns. Came back and won Word titles again.
Roy Jones was KTFO by Tarver and Johnson but came back and beat Jeff Lacy
Evander was kayoed by Rid**** Bowe but came back and beat Tyson twice.
Lennox brutally kayoed twice, came back and win again.Comment

Williams' best ever win was an extremely narrow decision over Margarito who went on to be knocked out by teeny tiny midgets. Williams was never that good and now he's fighting guys his size his washing-line jaw is going to be smashed in again and again.Comment

I don't know if Kell Brooks would ko him but I don't see him being in the top of division ever again.Comment

Williams defense was always his volume offense.
It will be interesting to see if he improves it, and fights tall for a change.
I think he has the ability to adjust his style, but I am sure he can still be baited into wars which will make for some fun fights because guys are going to take more risks with him now.Comment

No one wants to fight him at 147, for obvious reasons. I think he could reach the top of 154 again, but unless he improves his game, a fighter just as big, as strong, and as quick as Williams will always have his number. Martinez & Quintana laid the blueprint.Comment
