PRicans wouldn't even like Calderon at all if he wasn't Rican. The 2000s Rican style is more brawling and less boxing. Use Rocky Martinez, Juanma Lopez and Miguel Cotto as examples. Hell Cotto even stood and traded on more than a few occassions with Mayorga who is a lot bigger than him. Even younger guys like Jonathan Gonzalez like to get in and brawl.

Calderon developed his style because he can't crack an egg and it is the only thing that works for him. I haven't ever seen Ricans on here say they love the way Cory Spinks fights. Even some of my friends said Winky was so boring even though his "style" dominated and visibly frustrated Trinidad. If you can appreciate Calderon's "running style" you should be able to appreciate Winky's "peekaboo" defense.

It was good to see my last comments shut up your idiotic comments. Any time you say any fighter should be trying to avenge a lopside loss all I have to say is Winky vs Tito. Tito never wanted that rematch and we can see why. Style all wrong for Tito. And yes Ricans have great wins over Mexicans but as I pointed out to you Mexicans have some great wins (if not better) over Ricans too.

There is a big difference between slipping, circling, blocking, making a fighter miss......and outright running. This is not a track meet. Pernell Whitaker did not run, he made fighters miss and countered such as the above. If Calderon runs, he gets rightfully boo'd.

Killakali - very true. If Calderon was not Puerto Rican, they would NOT like him. I applaud the fact that Calderon wanted to get an immediate rematch and is going to Mexico to hostile territory - Segura did the same. But Cal needs to circle, step in and out and fight in the pocket, not run. If he wins that way he will gain PURE respect.

The usual suspects hating on some Puertorican, or someone related to a Puertorican, or an aspect of anything Puertorican...

            Predictable...

We wouldn't like Calderon if he wasn't PR? Ok so the same rule applies to you as whipes, if Margo, Segura DLFishnets weren't mexicants you wouldn't like them eithe.. It's kind of ****** when you actually think about it. Calderon is a mini man, a half pint that beat every mofo put in front of him. So hate all you want, at the end of the day no one will erase what he has done. and the line of mexi****s he beat if fairly long. Oh yeah like Seguras resume is sooo great Puhlease.

LOL nah I'm good dude. Just can't take away from the fact that little man has held his own with the bigger guys. But he still gets no respect.

You make some valid points but that goes for the pro Mexican pro Afro American fans ect. As far as Tito goes he has always wanted the rematch with Hopkins who was a horrible style match up for Tito so i think you are a little off on that example.

Again what I mentioned before. A fighter with physical dis-advantages uses what he has to conquer larger foes. But it is apparent that if you don't slug you are simply not a fighter. Not all slug fest are fun if they have not technic involved
