Marquez was ranked #2 p4p when Floyd fought him, it's not like he is fighting a certain style only and facing guys coming off devastating losses in "EVENTS". This cuts both ways, while I agree that the PPV situation is bad for the sport, the fact is that Floyd and Manny have to fight on PPV so they can generate more money for upcoming fights.
De La Hoya (At a reasonable weight)
Hatton (Unbeaten) PPV
Marguez (p4p #2 at the time)
Mosely (Legitimate WW Champ at the time)
VS
De La Hoya (Drained)
Hatton (Drained , drug addicted and unfocused)
Cotto (Drained, coming off a terrible loss and gift fights who hadn't looked good in years)
Clottey (Wasn't even ranked coming off a technical loss to a guy Manny destroyed in his previous fight)
Margarito (not ranked coming off a loss and suspension)
Mosley (Coming off a loss and a draw at 40 years old)
Top Rank only sells in house tune ups. Floyd at least fights them while there legitimately ranked.
