Martinez didn't make it to the top by being popular but rather fighting the best opponents. i'm not saying that he didn't talk to him about it. maybe they did, maybe they didn't. who knows?

its possible he heard it from someone else.

its also possible that he believes his son would make such a demand but only that he did so because someone influenced him to do so.
