Cotto is one of my favs and a great fighter in his own right. The 1st KD was not due to Cotto brawling.. Pac just caught Cotto. The 2nd KD was due to Cotto trying to brawl with Manny. Pretty much.. the rest of the fight after that Cotto was hesitant to exchange at all and in retreat mode along with getting buzzed a few times more.

Pac is always feeling his opponents in the first and second rounds. That has always been the case with the exception of Hatton who came out smoking in the very first round forcing Pac to throw bunches of combos.

Cotto tried to box in the early rounds but was being caught with flurries of punches. He was actually KD'ed by a right hook doing the box style. He changed style and tried to exchange with Pac and that didn't work either.

The key to his defeat is not about lack of boxing skills nor the change of style... It isn't about his decision to exchange punches with Pac either.

It is Pac's speed and awkward style that spelled his defeat. Pac was throwing blazing punches at angles he can't anticipate.

The key to neutralizing somebody like Pac is speed counter punching plus anticipating those awkward punches... easier said than done.

The only boxer I think that might have a chance in doing this is floyd... My honest opinion.

Pacquiao beats Cotto either way, he's just too fast and awkward - Cotto would've done better but still the result would've been the same

well, cotto is making his argument why he lost the fight... everyone has an opinion and i guess the only way to fight out is if they rematch...

now can you translate this all in tagalog? j/k pre

good post. like what they always say: "Gameplan goes out the window once you get hit."

i also think floyd can adapt to pacs awkwardness once he figures him out on the late rounds (if it ever gets there).

True although, this Manny seems a bit "new and improved" and perhaps a level beyond what he was when he fought JMM. I don't see JMM being as competitive with Manny in 2011. Especially after the Floyd and Katsidis fights.
