The Greatest Punchers in Heavyweight History

    5. Earnie Shavers - he put down Holmes, gave Ali serious pain, destroyed other heavyweights like flies.

    4. Rocky Marciano - Undefeated at 49-0 with over 40 KOs. KOd Moore and Walcott among others.

    3. Joe Louis - 26 title defenses including KOs of Baer, Sharkey, Conn, etc.

    2. George Foreman - greatest KO percentage in Heavyweight history. 'nuff said.

    1. Vitali Klitschko - immense KO power reverberates throughout victim's body and breaks body parts very far from the tip of the head where he hits them. Didn't really lose to Lennox Lewis who merely cut him but did not beat him. Otherwise, undefeated.

          It's probably Earnie Shavers.

It most definitely ISN'T Vitali Klitschko.

I think if you're going to include second (or third) tier guys like Shavers, you should add Tua, Ibeabuchi, Morrison, Ruddock, Cooney etc as well.

And as Chambers can attest to, Wlad also has one punch KO power.

Liston had 1 punch knock out power against 180 pound fighters like Floyd Patterson. Shavers usually got Foreman's sloppy seconds. Vitali only knocks out C level fighters after 10 rounds of punishment

              Foreman
              Bowe
              Lewis

Foreman, Shavers, Liston and Tyson are four names that come to mind. If you measured power in terms of PSI Shavers would prob come out on top, but personally i consider the ability to deliver the power just as important, because even if you are the most powerful, but aren't hitting the target flush and timing the shots right it's not going to deliver the full force of the blow. Which is why i was always impressed with Tyson's ability to KO opponents with either hand.

Joe Louis is also another name that comes to mind. He is smaller than most of these other guys we are talking about, but could def lay them out with one punch.
