Bermaine is one win away from a world title shot.

He should take on a ranked veteran like Tony Thompson.

Problem is, his promoter is Don King, who often keeps his fighters inactive for long periods even up to two years.

don king just got the guy 3 regional titles with one win...i dont think don king is holding him back.that was great promoting on kings part.stiverne is 0-1-1 vs journeymen hws.he got ko'd by demertice king & had a draw with charles davis...those are his best opponents to date & he never beat either of them.neither guy has a winning record.i told you guys a 100 times regional belts are important & this is a perfect example.stiverne has not done anything in his career but because DON KING is such a GREAT promoter he has stiverne in position for a big fight.fights are hard to put together in the states right now.no one has money & big heavyweight fights are very expensive to put together.

bermane stiverne is not going to do anything...he is in the mold of bruce seldon.king did a wonderful job getting him a world title shot & a few big fights.if you guys watched boxing in the 80's & 90's then you would know don king was the best promoter & put together big cards & made his fighters lots of money, especially his heavyweights.he had so many PPV with 2 or 3 heavyweight fights & some had 2 heavyweight title fights on the same card.king isnt the top dog anymore but if you dont realize what he has done for boxing you just havent been around long enough.

trust me i got several of his fights.he has alot to prove & the guy he fought was a tomato can who fought nobody.he was undefeated against overmatched opponents.stiverne needs to step up but he has 2 WBC regional titles & a WBA regional title so don king could have some leverage to get him in position for a big fight.he could be either in an eliminator or possible title fight.the klits dont like dealing with king so an eliminator is more likely.when you cant beat charles davis or demetrice king you dont have much chance in the big leagues.think tye fields...stepped up twice vs barrett & grant & lasted a combined 4 rounds....stiverne will get crushed when he leaves the minor leagues.
