People act like this isn't commonly done in boxing. The draw which is Pacquiao dictate the terms. Mayweather does this Oscar dis this. The draw and the cash cow alwayss dictates the terms, and thats one of the reasons we will never get Pac vs. Mayweather because neither want to give into the other.

I like both fighters but if Marquez wants this fight he will have to fight at 147, Many doesn't have to compromise to Marquez, as Marquez wouldn't if the tables were turned. Marquez is really in no position to negotiate if he wants the fight to happen.

2.) Because it would be better for boxing

Well if he is a lightweight than he should fight at lightweight and not expect a guy who has fought no lighter than 147 for the past couple years to come down.

Marquez is the one that has been begging for this fight, therefore he is really in no position to make demands like this.

I like both fighters, but Marquez really brings nothing to the table to make these kinds of demands. He is not a huge draw,he is not a big name (even in the Mexican community he has not been able to draw people, which is one of the reasons he hates on Canelo), and outside of hardcore fans nobody knows who he is. Not hating on JMM, but it's true.

So based on your point I guess you would expect Sergio to come down to 147 since Manny and Mayweather fight no heavier than 147 consistantly because that would make it a more fair fight and better for boxing. I didn't say I supported him I said this is something that is common in the history of boxing and people wanna act like this is something new. This happened before Pacquiao and will happen after Pacquiao,

So if this fight happened at 140 and Marquez won would you recognize him as the welterweight champ? Your also probably one of the same guys that has been hatin on Canelo too. This post FTW, doesn't make what Pac is doing right though. And, the JMM fight is just completely crap.
