some of you guys have no sense of reality on here. I think anything over 200K is a success. Cotto hasnt fought since last summer, Mayorga hasnt won a meaningful fight in years and the way the economy is and add the fact that Martinez fought as well. I was thinking that it would do about 100K.

Imagine the numbers Cotto would do if he actually fought legitimate opponents.

pretty solid number imo ... especially considering cotto was such a favorite and mayorga has been out of the spotlight for so long.

Cotto/Shane did 250k, but I believe it was only Cotto's second fight on PPV. Cotto/Marg did 500k and Manny/Cotto did 1.25 million which is the highest of Manny's career, more than Oscar. I'm not sure if Manny/Mosley will do more but seeing as it will be on CBS (360 anyway) I think it will, but it wouldn't be because Mosley is a bigger draw (he did less than 100k with Sergio Mora) it'd be because Fight Camp 360 was available in like 120 million homes compared to the 20 million you get with 24/7.

If the numbers are correct, Top Rank won. HBO spent millions for the Martinez fight, Top Rank made Millions for the Cotto fight.

Anyways 250k is a good number considering nobody really cared about this fight.
I don't really care, but I guess 200-250k isn't all that bad for a fight that shouldn't have been on PPV in the first place. Can't believe 11 of you (so far) actually thought this number would be higher.....

I was expecting 300-350k because I thought Mayorga would sell more, but anyone who even knows he is figured he was done and again 250,000 people just paid to watch one of Cotto's tune-ups its really not a bad number.

Which fights on HBO's or Showtime's schedule would you have liked to remove and replace with Cotto-Mayorga?
