I'm certain they looked over Nonito's copy of the contract with a fine-toothed comb. Now that TR has stated their dispute, I'm waiting to hear Bailey's and GBP's rebuttal.
My thoughts exactly. Before jumping to conclusions, let's hear what Bailey and GBP say first. Everything Arum may be contending could be true however there may be something else to it that he is not telling us. I just hope Donaire doesn't get shelved until June 2011 because of this...

Mayweather left to fight De La Hoya, who said he would never fight him as long as he was with Top Rank. De La Hoya left to start his own company, per the advice of his banker, Ricard Schaefer, who became the CEO.

Bob Arum just needs to understand that this isnt the 70's anymore. He's at an age where he'll be dying any day and thats why top fighters like Donaire and Manny Pacquiao have left him for Golden Boy Promotions. Oscar is the future. Bob Arum is a relic and will soon die and disappear like a fart in a tornado.

you get what i am trying to say?
??? No... GBP and their lawyers has to have seen, read, and analyzed the Donaire's contract with TR. Afterall, they have traveled the same road before with Manny Poohkyaw fiasco. And they should know that TR is not going to bend over like anybody...IMO

True, you have to hear both sides of the story or three....We heard top ranks version and Mrs. Donaires...Lets wait and see what Shaffer has to say about this.

I doubt GBP/dunkin would go through with the process of announcing the signing of Donair for nothing. They must have something up their sleeve.

He did better in the 80's I think, and its not even Bob Arum who is running things behind the scenes anymore. He, by his own admission, is essentially retired and just a mouthpiece and familiar face, the guy behind the scenes now is his son-in-law Todd Debouff and quite frankly, if you've been in business since 1960 and are still making money hand over fist what exactly is he doing wrong? Every casual and OLD white guy say that boxing is dying yet we went from Tyson, to Oscar, to Floyd, to Manny and another will pop up another day doing insane numbers just like these guys, and with Top Rank teaming up with CBS it can only be good news.

Donaire better not cash that check yet, he might have to give it back.

If Top Rank will push through with their lawsuit, does this mean GBP can't promote a Donaire fight in the near future?

This may be the biggest mistake in Donaire's entire career. I'm pretty sure he'll be blacklisted from fighting Top Rank fighters after this and thats where all the big money fights are.
Donaire screwed up big time - I think they were looking at the short term gains. Unless he plans on staying at bantam there aren't any big money fights outside on Top Rank if he moves up.
