top rank would not say they offered him fights if it was not true. that would be ******, they would have emails and letters as proof of offering them

makes sense...but if top rank didnt agree with donaire's claim that he wasnt offered enough fights, why would they pay him the extra money? this case turns on the medical leave. i kno he broke his hand after mthlane fight but his hand was merely swollen after the marquez fight, which is also what his wife stated. top rank's lawyer claims it was broken.

donaire is a sensational fighter but this was a ****** business move either on his part or his wife.

if he wanted to leave TR then he should have let his contract run out instead of trying to break it.

he must be really ****** business-wise to think he could leave TR for their rivals and they would just stand there with a wave and a smile.

GBP is in serious danger of no longer being relevant as promoters of course they're going to take their changes with signing donaire, what else do they have to lose ... who else do they have canelo, khan and ortiz.

no way, gdp relied on the word of donaire and his lawyer....they wont know of the fights offered to donaire by top rank. remember donaire is dis*****g them so why would gdp know

Im pretty sure Arum knows more about reading and interpreting contracts than anyone on this site. Especially if its a contract of one of his fighters. His Lawyer just basically proved that Top Rank was completely in the right and Donaire just breached his contract. This means he will get sued. Open and shut case based on the article in the thread.

This may be the biggest mistake in Donaire's entire career. I'm pretty sure he'll be blacklisted from fighting Top Rank fighters after this and thats where all the big money fights are.

Like Dempsey mentioned, I don't think this would be a gross oversight on Bailey's part. He's a practicing attorney and ex-NSAC, so their team just wouldn't pull some stunt like this if they didn't have anything solid to back themselves up. I'm certain they looked over Nonito's copy of the contract with a fine-toothed comb. Now that TR has stated their dispute, I'm waiting to hear Bailey's and GBP's rebuttal.

this is why De la hoya and mayweather left top rank. and this is why every top fighter should do like tito trinidad did and have a per fight contract everytime is was ready to fight.tito was contractually bound with Don king but a manditory negotiation per fight was there.
