ehhh...kinda hard to tell rite now. they go to mediation. i would say it depends on whether the medical testimony is enough to support top rank's claim that donaire was too injured to fight. i mean the nsac placed him on leave, but they did not specific a time period. typically broken hands do not take more than 3 or 4 months to heal and even with than, its contested whether his hands were truly broken or not.

more money is good for donaire (moving to gbp) but if it would put you in a legal bind that could sideline your career while waiting for the case to be settled, that's still a blunder on donaire's part. june is just 2 months away, why can't you just wait for your top rank contract to expire? if gbp will pay you money even when you're not fighting then well and good...but that's not the case. you have to fight to earn money. if that litigation will prevent you from doing so then you're ****ed.

if they are going to mediation, its not that bad. mediation sessions are much faster than anything the judicial system does. which is a good thing. im thinking it'll be resolved in time for his next fight.

I really believe that Donaire's lawyer John Bailey really "cluster-****ed" this one. Bailey should've known that in any medical leave - a promoter can not make/offer any fight to the injuried fighter.

Bob Arum went to law school at Harvard, I'll take him over anything Golden Boy can produce. Bob himself is a lawyer and has way deeper pockets than Golden Boy or Oscar to get even more high profile lawyers, I think the question is how badly does GBP want Nonito? Are they willing to spend all this money on legal fee's on top of what they plan on paying him for a guy who is a relative unknown still?

bailey used to be a nsac commisioner. trust me, he did not make that mistake. im certain he payed attention to the medical leave time spans.

I agree, why would he just sign right now if it expires soon.

If Top rank offered Nonito 3 fights as stipulated in his contract along with his minimum then they really do have a case, And it also depends on the length of nonito's injuries or suspension.

i know that but the way gbp and top rank hate each other so much...a resolution outside of the court is farfetched.
