Some of the posts in this thread have been awful.

Salita is a man with his head screwed on who loves the sport. He had a title shot and came up short, so what?

There are levels of fighters. Some terrible ****s get upset when an overmatched opponent gets a title shot but the reality and beauty of boxing is we only know they are overmatched when they are in that ring.

Salita is clearly a very good fighter at his level. Which is British terms would be that of a good domestic fighter and fringe european-level contender. Which needless to say means he a very good boxer.

Bob Arum, who is also ***ish, gave up on Salita. That should give you a good indication how much Salita sucks.

how did he get to fight for a world championship has he even beaten any one would would be considered top 20-30 in his weight class?
he needs to be fighting atleast half decent european title holders or other beaten fighter in world championship fights, he clearly does'nt have the name or power in his promotions to fight anyone of note, and at 28 it seems he's basically given up on a world title, i do actually think he's a decent bloke though, but it seems abit lame being content to beat journeymean and not getting in the ring for proper challenges.

The thing I hate about Salita is that he is delusional. Atleast Audley Harrison won the Olympic Gold medal. Salita was calling Oscar De La Hoya out a few years back.

Salita wants the reward without scarificing things for it. He wanted to fight De La Hoya when he didn't even beat a top 50 fighter yet. Amir destroyed him in 1 round and then Salita goes on beating other top 100 bums and says that he is back.
