Most Sergio Martinez fans want to see him fight Pirog.

I am one of them. I like Sergio Martinez and want to see this fight.

Like most fans I also have no desire to see him fight Manfredo Jr.

Pirog is a good young talent, and he has power and ability. I think he would put up a solid effort though I think he would lose pretty handily.

But be real with yourselves people. Stop making thread after thread about how Sergio is not facing real talent and is cherry picking. If there is exactly one fighter you have on your list and he has no major victories and is unknown in North America outside hardcore boxing fans you really don't have much.

You all know if Sergio made Pirog look like an amateur and outclassed you would NOT be putting Martinez in your Top 3 PFP because of Pirog's resume. 17 pro fights. No major names on it. Daniel Jacobs is not elite and is still a work in progress.

So tell me, who REALISTICALLY would Martinez have to defeat for you to give him credit and move him up to the Mayweather/Pacquaio level? Give me a short list.

I'd like to see him fight Pirog but I'm not too sure why Martinez' promoter Lou DiBella is so adamently opposed to making the fight...

Also, I have no desire to Sergio face Manfredo in what would amount to a total mismatch and blowout. I'd rather him face Lee, if not Pirog...

I'd also like to see a nice guy like Manfredo not get completely destroyed in the ring. It's nothing personal against him, just like it's nothing personal when I don't want to watch club fighters on HBO. He would not present any real challenge to Martinez.

Martinez is not going to get a Mayweather or Cotto fight for numerous reasons. I don't think Sturm has any interest in fighting Martinez. I would like to see him face Pirog and Golovkin though.

I think that's the reason people are so obsessed with Pirog. DiBella was raging about how Pirog got Martinez's belt when he did not earn it in the ring.

How much of that is just promotional bs, ducking, or legitimate is unknown.
