you know, I wouldnt mind if Martinez fought Manfredo...if he fought again within two months. but like all boxers nowadays, once you get to the top, you simply fight 2 or three times a year at most, regardless of the opposition you faced.

this fight is unbelievably meaningless, and is just a waste of time since it holds up Martinez by a few months. what happened to fighters that were actually around their weight class naturally, that always stayed in shape and/or actually had the skills to just walk into a fight on short notice?

i think its a decent fight for now, although i think they should look for a better MW fight. it is what it is, hopefully it'll sell, i think that's what theyre looking for right now so they can set up a ppv later this year.

If Martinez takes this then he deserves the same criticism Pacquaio has been getting for fighting Mosley.

Manfredo is actually a worse opponent than Mosley, who was ranked top 5 p4p and the best welter one year ago and could probably still beat the next best contender Berto.

Manfredo ain't getting nothing but a beating from Sturm and Pirog. Martinez should win this a few rounds. It's a joke of a fight.

Martinez-Manfredo is in no way, shape or form a decent fight, unless used as a 'stay busy' fight, where he will fight legitimate competition within the next two months after this fight takes place.
