Bullshit. Boxing shouldn't be a freakshow, people just watching it because they want to see naz or whatever loudmouth get hurt. Or to watch harrison humiliated for being a failure.

That sort of shit talking is great when you're 13 and want to impress your ****head friends but it's tiresome as fuck having to listen to this shit as an adult. Wlad is amusing without really being childish and abusive when he's interviewed, why isn't that enough? And I'd rather watch martinez or ward than some little prick who has a big mouth and little skills (like naz).

boxing doesn't need shit talking. Ezzard charles wouldn't have been any better or more entertaining if we had a bunch of interviews with him insulting people. If you have the wit to pull it off, if you're being facetious then fine. otherwise just stfu.

You're not getting it. Boxing badly needs characters. Not neccesarily "***** talking" but charasmatic fighters who will capture the public's imagination.

OK, characters are good. But characters are supposed to have charisma. degale and his forced sad insults I, personally, find petty and annoying. Being a loudmouth isn't having character. Just because ali had character and threw insults around doesn't mean that every loudmouth is interesting to watch.

Ricky hatton (although i was never a big fan) captured the imagination of fans in this country as much as anyone. same with pac. They didn't need to do what degale is doing.

I guess its subjective. I consider Mayweather's "trash talking" to be corny and kinda illiterate. But his fanboys will call it genius.

Naz was more tongue-in-cheek and witty. I dont know many who werent entertained by him.

Either way, people who get annoyed or take objection to it need to lighten up imo. Its what they do in the ring that counts. Its not a personality contest. Either way, DeGale will sell tickets.

Yeah, degale should do very well and be entertaining in the ring. I just don't want a mayweather mark 2. Someone who's capable of being relaxed and easy going and insightful in interviews but will spend most of his time acting up telling his opponent how shit his clothes are etc. just because it supposedly sells tickets to people.

I just think degales gone past the point of irony and being tongue in cheek. I'm not offended by it, it's just tedious.

No, boxing does not need yet another loud mouthed idiot, with virtually no originality what so ever. I'll settle for someone who doesn't refer to themselves in third person, with a little humility and can actually turn over a punch without cuffing their opponent.

Chunky has the swag of Naz and the talent of Mayweather.

                  He is the One
Don't be fooled be the bluff and bluster, Degale's act is solely based upon Fraud Gayweather, and Naz was never that good of a boxer!

                    True story.
It's taken me nearly a year to be driven to actually type a few words on this forum. I was lucky enough to have been in the presence of Darren, not to mention a lot of my good friends grew up with him. Irrespective of taking this personally, I'm simply shocked that this forum puts up with such disrespectful and idiotic comments.

What kind of low life sinks to such lows to hammer home a point of view?. Darren Sutherland was an extremely popular young man for good reason. A humble, talented and charming individual. The same cannot be said for this breed of superstar that you seem to aspire to and idolise. James Degale is a man devoid of humility or charm. Pure arrogance and stinking of his own self importance. This is not what boxing needs. Personality and charisma can be handled without steeping to such lows.

I assume by your juvenile comment that you are but a snotty nosed teenager, trying too hard to be all too cool for school. Either that or you simply weren't raised correctly. Then again, you're probably just another scumbag. Possibly all three.

You probably want to be just like Mayweather when you grow up, too. Have some ****ing respect. James Degale, as smug as he is, at least paid tribute to the passing of his long time rival and friend Darren Sutherland. Perhaps having a little decency and respecting the death of one of boxings tragedies will serve you well in this world title fight we call life.

                    What a disgrace.

R.I.P Darren Sutherland. Gone but not forgotten.

Degale comes off like a ****.... there's no doubt about it....

comparing him to Naz and Mayweather out of the ring is idiotic... Naz was annoying to some and some loved it, but Naz was far more naturally charismatic - Degale constantly stumbles over his words... he's not a 'talker'....

and as far as mayweather, mayweather's in a category with guys like david haye - who can speak well, and be loud and boisterous but still speak with eloquence...

Degale's on ringside talking to adam and johnny and using colloquialism's like 'gassed'... are you serious?!?!

it's embarrassing, i'm from west london and he embarrasses me....

Naz had that Sheffield accent, and he liked to drop those witty punch lines, but he also had the ability to hold your attention.... in degale's case i'm just waiting for him to shut up....
