so basically its cheaper to put up and coming fighters that know body gives a fuck about on pac's undercard. yeah it would cost more to put donaire on the undercard but it would more than likely add to the PPV buys. im not a promoter but it seems like a win-win situation

All Bob Arum had to do was showcase Donaire once on a Pacquiao PPV and the Filipino people would have taken notice. Instead, he fought in relative obscurity for 3 years straight and only when Bob was scared he might lose him, he gave him the big Montiel fight.

I understand Donaires reasoning for leaving Top Rank. GBP will get him on HBO or even Showtime much more often and even if Agbeko beats Mares, I think Don King would be willing to work with GBP again to set up a unification fight with Donaire. Agbeko doesn't have a belt but if he beats Mares, he will be considered the second or third best bantamweight. And if Moreno signs with GBP, you could get Donaire vs. the winner of Mares-Agbeko and put Moreno on the undercard and have the winners fight later in the year for complete bantamweight supremacy...
Very well said....I don't think boxing "experts" could have said better themselves. I absolutely agree with this. All those Pinoy Power shows did not help his career at all. We barely saw any action from him whether on Showtime or HBO when he was with Top Rank. And even being on the same card with Pacquiao can help him draw a bigger fan base with his fellow countrymen. And now everybody is hating on him for this move? Why? If he believes it's a good career move, then let it be. Because I'm sure everybody on this forum that is hating would have done the same thing if they were in his situation.

I Disagree....Top rank would be the best for him now coz of the many "options" that he will have....Donaire would be the top draw at bantam, and those so called other fighters at bantam affiliated with the other promotion company will be after him.....so the chance to earn more than $1M is with Top Rank

that makes no sense...donaire wants to stay at bantam rite?? golden boy is more apt at going out and getting out of house fighters than top rank has ever been. this is what donaire is looking for rite now. he wants the best fights at bantam. the best way to get that is at gbp. i think everyone agrees on that.

The BIG bucks are with Top Rank even if Donaire stays with them and fights at bantam, it's his chance to earn more than $1M

If he goes to Golden Goose.....do you still think Top Rank will still allow Donaire the chance to earn big with Top Ranks stable of fighters?

If ever TR and GBP agrees to a match between Donaire and TR best stable of fighters(WVjr, Gamboa, JuanMa), the big percentage of the purse will still be insisted by top rank. The most he will earn is $1M or less.

Staying with Golden Goose .....he'll earn peanuts!!!:3some:..........even if Donnaire becomes the undisputed champ at bantam.....that's just it ....at bantam?.....no more chance!

The point is, putting better fights on Manny's undercard is absolutely pointless from a business perspective.

Having Donaire on the undercard will not alter the PPV figures one iota.

So, because they can stack the card with unknown's and lesser prospects, they will..... end of story.

The clowns who think that Arum "cares" about Manny, and who think that Arum "cares" about them, and who think that Arum "cares" about the sport of boxing..... are naive idiots who have been fleeced before, and will be fleeced again

Bob Arum makes Don King look good.

Also, the fan's who take it as a given that Bob Arum's "feud" with GBP is legit, and therefore, Arum is justified in refusing to negotiate with them, are the same naive idiots mentioned above.

If GBP cannot make Juanma/Gamboa, then that will reflect on Arum, and it should be obvious to all who is holding boxing back for his own personal profit.

Good move by Nonito. He deserves more HBO airtime, and we want to see him on premuim cable, not obscure PPVs. Arum just wasn't keeping him busy enough. GoldenBoy will keep him real busy. No Gamboa or Juanma, but there's Perez, Darchinyan, Mares, Agbeko, Chris John, and Moreno's still out there when he comes back down to earth and drops his demand of a king's ransom in pay.

So, you understand the financial side of the equation even better than Nonito Donaire?

Hmmm..... personally, I doubt that very much.

Donaire is being held back by Arum, and has most likely made *** all.

He obviously has discussed his future with GBP in great detail, and he completely disagree's with your analysis regarding his future income.

Anything that excludes Bob Arum, is fine by me.

Bob Arum will be dead soon
