oh, Im not saying that Martinez is #1 yet.

but Pacquiao;s opposition is starting to slide, If he continues down this path, he will eventually lose his spot, especially if Martinez(or someone else, because I dont think Martinez is legendary) continues getting high quality wins.

I just wanted to point out the flaws in the threadstarters argument. size matters, but its far from the only thing that matters. You have to take everything into account.

I think p4p should only take into account what youve done within about a year and a half or so(time frame is up for debate)...if you start counting stuff too far back then ****, Holyfield should be in the p4p lists. which of course is a big mistake.

          I agree

martinez can become p4p #1 if martinez beats the winner of the super six or lucian bute and pac fights another past his prime boxer

And Dzinizruk wasn't a slide? The #8 ranked jr middle who's never had a fight at middleweight? Manfredo possibly next? From pavlik and p4p ranked williams? gimme a break. This guy is seeking softer touches than Andre Berto.

cintron (D), p.will (L), pavlik (UD), p.will (KO), dzinziruk (KO) is no better than Pac's recent wins. Infact Pac's are much better. He KO'd a lineal champ (hatton), a top 3 welter (cotto), smashed a legend as an massive underdog (DLH) and had shutout decisions against top rated welters (clottey and margarito). Add to that his wins over HoFs at the lower weights, and how can Martinez get so close basically coming out of nowhere with that overrated set of fights?

Answer: By doing something that the current pound for pound King did to become number 1....Beat two boxers that were at least 17 lbs. bigger than him!!!!!

For Sergio, who is 170 lbs. on fight night, this means beating two 187 pounders.

If Sergio beats two 187 pounders back to back, then he can be pound for pound King, replacing Pacquiao.
Haye must be greater ...you know the Russian giant who got hit by the Hayemaker can attest to that.

Lolz. Hope you are not serious.

If he can beat S.O.G. he gets #1 p4p.

Didn't Pavlik outweigh Martinez by like 15 pounds on fight night?

Beating Margarito wasn't impressive. He hasn't looked good since '08...He wasn't even a ranked JR. Middleweight at the time they fought.

Edit: NVM...Just looked it up and Pavlik outweighed him by 11 pounds
