    NEW ESPN P4P Rankings: #1 Pacquiao, #2 Martinez, #3.....

    You guessed it...

Hits: When Mayweather, who has won titles in five weight classes, actually fights, he is one of the best in boxing history. There is still a chance (remote as it might seem these days) that he will wake up and decide to challenge himself and give fans around the world what they want -- the mother of all showdowns against Manny Pacquiao.

Misses: Mayweather is a part-time fighter who is closing in on a year of inactivity, which soon will mean an exit from these rankings. The past few years of his career have been very disappointing because he fights so rarely, and when he does, the fights aren't against the best that boxing has to offer.

I just don't understand this. In his last fight he faced the number 2 ranked p4p fighter outside of himself (#1 WW). Outside of Pacquiao who else would have been a better option at that point? IIRC Mayweather's last five opponents were coming of KO victories. But let's just ignore facts...

Name each of the fighters Floyd fought, and who they KO'd prior to them fighting Floyd.

Because apparently, if they KO'd them, they definitely had a shot at Floyd.

HE FOUGHT a light weight, a light weight ffs

what is it with you nut huggers, cant you see how wrong it is that a welterweight cherry picks a light weight and a near 40 year old man who was inactive for 18 months

the better option would have been the number 1 p4p in pacman

                    ummm...mosely ko'ed margarito

i wont count the marquez fight becuase he clearly didnt stand a chance

hatton was on a monster run and he ko'ed castillo/tzyu and had wins over the likes of juan urango (when he was still dangerous) and collazo.

and finally dlh had just beat the **** out of mayorga, which ilustrated he was clearly still world class. i mean cotto just fought mayorga and he didnt do nearly as well as dlh. not to mention he had to go up to 154 to do it.

baldo was a gimme fight, but he had just beat judah.

all in all tho, aside from the baldo and jmm fights that definitely a run that anyone else not named pac could pull off.
