At least Sergio has got to his senses 'Manny is too small for him' need to fight Ward or Bute to be considered as #2. Fighter of the year and still struggling to get a PPV.

It looks to me that Sergio Martinez and his team have come to their senses. There are plenty of fighters to fight in the 154 and 160 lbs division for Sergio. And personally, I hope he doesn't make it to PPV since I can't afford to be paying $60 for Sergio vs. Cotto and crap like that (I won't even pay for Cotto vs. Margarito). So, if he can get HBO fights with Angulo, Kirkland or even P-Will if he puts together a couple of good wins, us fans will win. I would pay $60 for Sergio vs. Mayweather but that will never happen so we can all forget that...

Keep dreaming. If Mayweather refuses to entertain the thought of fighting what he calls 'a one dimensional midget' then you think he is going to move up in weight and fight a beast in Sergio Martinez. I would love to see that but it will never happen. And for the record, that is what Mayweather refers to him as, not me. I am just trying to make a point...

dibella just broke the hearts of pac haters. they've been pumping their chests for days now about how pac should fight martinez and they even tried to neglect the obvious size discrepancy between the two. now it's crystal clear, pac is too small for martinez and that's coming from martinez's camp no less. what martinez want now is to get floyd to fight. unfortunately, that's the matchup the *****s were trying to avoid to discuss.

In speaking to DiBella Tuesday afternoon, he put a quick kibosh on the thought of a Sergio Martinez vs. Manny Pacquiao mega-fight. Instead he wants to see his boxer face Floyd Mayweather Jr. or Miguel Cotto. If nobody steps up, then Martinez will target a big name at super middleweight, but DiBella says that won't happen until the end of the 2012, early 2013.

All this rubbish about "Sergio needs to fight super-middleweight's" is absurd.

The guy is a large JMW who can still make 154.

            You can pick the fan-boy's

If he end's up at 168, then he is absolutely the man, because Martinez is already punching above his weight at 160.

Sergio Martinez would hurt Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather Jr & KILL Miguel Cotto. Floyd Mayweather Jr. will NEVER take that fight so Sergio shouldn't even waste his time calling him out.

i disagree, i think at 160 that is the toughest fight that can be made for Martinez.

Mayweather didn't shy away from it when asked tho.......

After the fight was over, Mayweather was asked about some possible options - if a fight with Manny Pacquiao is not made. One reporter asked Mayweather about the possibility of moving up to 160-pounds to fight Martinez, who recently beat Kelly Pavlik for the titles. Mayweather surprised everyone by stating "it's possible".
I don't think Floyd is hungry enough to fight a guy like Martinez at this point but can't stop hoping. Either way, no matter who Martinez's next opponent will be because I know it will be a good fight against a good opponent. He don't need Pac or Floyd. All he needs to do is keep doing what he is doing because it's working.

Floyd retired, he's not gonna fight Martinez
Steward won't risk Cotto against Martinez either
