Most fighters lose around 10 pounds from their natural weight when they train while building up muscle. Why do you think they drain for weigh in and then rehydrate 1-20 lbs after?

That's a fat Manny at 150 btw. I'm pretty sure Erik Morales weighs more than this and he's campaigning at 140 lbs.

henry arstrong was / is still viewed the same way but the fact is he was only 4 lbs smaller or bigger than his opponnets in all of his fights exept garcia who outweighed him only by 10 lbs......if armstrong deserved to be viewed as david who beat up goliath, so does pac....

Was Manny fat against Margarito? He was in the high 140's. And Morales is probably hurtin trying to maintain that weight. Weight draining is for guys that in actuality need to move up anyway. If you fight at 147 and you weigh almost 170 fight night your ass needs to move up because 147lbs is not natural for you. Dont look at draining weight like its a good thing. Do you know how long before a fight they take those pics? Definitely not a week before the fight or even a month nut.

He would almost be a true WW if the weigh-ins were, like, 2h before the fight. But when they're 30h before the fight pretty much everybody drops and gain weight before/after weigh-in, Manny eats whatever he wants (he's even forced to eat by Ariza during camp) all day and still doesn't weigh in on the limit. He's no true WW, he's just so damn could that he wins anyway.

When there is such a long time between weigh-in and the actual fight then of course it can be a good thing - that's why almost everybody is doing it. Not only in boxing either, it's the same in wrestling, powerlifting etc.

Those athletes aren't doing it because it's so much fun, they're doing it because they can get an edge.

Ahh. There you go. That makes him a full fledged welterweight.

Way to underachieve. Im a Floyd fan that gave Pac nothing but props and his silly ass fans keep treating him like tiny tim. Its embarassing.

What are you talking about? You had nothin to say because you are the excuse making little **** I was talking about and your feelings got hurt. Now you feel like you got some teammates so you try to put a sentence together. You are better served to keep putting up STFU pictures than trying to join an intelligent conversation. What are you doing on your momma's computer anyway? Get your clothes ready for school boy.

They are doing it strictly to make weight. There is no edge in dehydrating for any human being. Its an edge to be able to eat and drink properly when you're barely making weight and your opponent is struggling like hell up until the weigh in. Hint hint......catch weights

We're rollin up on 5 fights at this weight class. At what point is he just the plain ol' Welterweight champ instead of the almost WW champ. Is it me or is it disrespectful to Manny for yall to be pinching his damn cheeks saying "Way to go lil fella". Was Duran a lightweight his whole damn career posing as a welter and middle weight? The limit is 147 and until Roach has him show up at a fight weighing 139 he's a welterweight.
