You're acting like Ring Magazine and ESPN are the only authorities in all of Boxing.

There are hundreds if not thousands of Boxing writers that tow a different line and they're not all in agreement with ESPN/Ring. All of them, including Ring/ESPN are personal opinions idiot. Opinions are dime a dozen.

I agree with them on Sergio's FOTY award, but that's the point. I agree with them because I think that Sergio's win was more spectacular than Pac's wins. I don't just regurgitate whatever the current writers at Ring magazine are saying.

Says a lot about you when you only treat 1 source of opinion as gospel despite it being just one of many.

If you want to hide behind your appeal to authority then go ahead. I won't stop you, but it makes replying to your posts absolutely pointless.

good for you if you give him props. but once Sergio lost we all know that they all would look at his RESUME and say he doesnt really have a notable win against somebody. once he lost even against someone else they would start calling him just another good boxer.

Martinez..why don't do you fight Lucien Bute ? He's looking to fight a decent opponent and you can step up a bit in weight

Damn this is getting really outta hand and ******, I think people needn't stop even thinking about putting Martinez vs pacquiao together they r in 2 different weight classes for a reason let them rule these classes people (specially to the writer of the article u dumbass) Martinez is too big! Next thing we're gonna start reading and hearing is how people wanna see manny fight haye or something...let manny fight Mosley and any other takers of the welterweight class and let Martinez stick to middleweight and dominate, this is y boxing has gotten so horrible, anytime someone does good people r so quick to throw in the same fighter...manny manny manny

                Bunch of id*ots.
Why don't Martinez call out Lucian Bute or Andrew Ward?
Pacman is already fighting way out of his weight class at 147.
Pacman is ATG and no1 P4P cause he fought guys bigger than him.
Who has Martinez fought that is bigger than him.
Martinez is a good fighter but when he meets someone with speed and power, he's going to get KTFO with his hands down style.

                Paul Williams - no defence
Kelly Pavlik - Stiff as a statue
Kermit Clintron - Kermit the frog has more courage.

154 should be the weight if the fight ever happens.

If Sergio had won the first fight and won the rematch he wouldnt be getting the award.

but to say Pac's performance is not in the level of Sergio was ABSURB. Pac was so impressive against 2 big guys that he made it look like an easy fight. try to read some articles from ESPN AND Ring Magazine about the fights. its how Pac beat those guys, he makes it look like so easy and in dominating fashion without losing any rounds.

if i would save all the quotes, write ups that Pac has been getting from boxing analyst, Ring Magazine, ESPN etc etc it would blow Sergio away.
I'm not debating that Pac is a huge name, famous fighter and gives good performaces but the sport of boxing and fight fans who recognize truly knows and are admitting that Martinez fought the better competition as of recent.

The guy who wrote this is Pinoy and it looks like he is a lil upset that Martinez performances is putting pressure on the sport to make him #1. Sergio didn't have a mega big $ fight but he earned the respect by fighting the better comp. Simple as that. We all know what Manny did in the past but as of recent, he ain't impressing the sport with his opponents as much as his performances against them.
