I have a question for Cotto and all boxing fans. If Margarito wins this rematch ( just saying if, don't slam me for the words ). Will everyone be satisfied and convinced about both matches. Or will people still wonder ???

Cotto Should Have Gotten Mayorga Out Sooner!

Cotto's future I'm afraid isn't going much further. Dela Hoya made Mayorga look silly before knocking him out, closer to Mayorga's prime. That was how many years ago?!!? Not getting Mayorga out tillnthe last round, tells me Cotto's great career is coming to a close. Cotto had too many wars wit Mosley, Margarito and Pacquiao, barely had enough to finish Mayorga, may get by a tired Margarito in a rematch, provided no plaster in his hand wraps this time, and that should be enough to close out a career. He won't beat these younger warriors in Khan and Maidana. He might beat Bradley cause Bradley doesn't hit hard enough to take out Cotto. He couldn't beat Mosley even in a rematch, unless Pacquiao takes all the fight out of Mosley. And Mayweather wouldn't want any part of Cotto even a washed up Cotto, for fear of getting caught with a paralyzing left hook. Cotto fought the wars. He's been a great warrior himself. He's just at the end of the line... along with Morales.

                Margarito's Gloves were padded

"A foreign substance was found by CSAC staff in the hand wraps of Antonio Margarito,” Tim Noonan, the CSAC chairman, said. “The substance found in Margarito’s hand wraps is currently being analysed by the California Department of Justice. An investigation as to whether either licensee violated CSAC rules is ongoing. LATER ... The California Department of Justice laboratory later confirmed the substance to be similar in nature to plaster of Paris." What I just pasted is fact - now, where some of his fans have been able to create doubt is the idea that Margarito didn't know that his trainer had padded his gloves. Most fighters will tell you that there is no way he could not have known but I guess if you're a Margarito fan it doesn't matter as long as he wins - cheating or not. Speaks volumes of the type of fan he has - not a fans of boxing just fans of his no matter what.

****m and Steward BOTH clearly ducked the loaded-wraps issue.

Fair enough, but it is naive to dismiss that factor.

But now that Marg has tasted Cotto's power and Cotto's confidence isn't as high, I'm not sure subtle changes will work. Marg is still a bull. He'll walk through everything Cotto throws again. And Cotto is still open for those same punches Marg throws. Uppercuts and overhand rights.
I also believe that, which is why Steward will make a difference.
