  • Comments Thread For: Naazim Richardson Talks Cotto-Margarito, Pacquiao

There definitely was a wealth of knowledge at Saturday's post-fight press conference following Miguel Cotto's 12th round dissection of Ricardo Mayorga. Sifting through the crowd inside of the MGM Grand's media center, I came across respected trainer Naazim Richardson, one of the best interviews in the sport.

How good Shane will fare is a question everyone has... But having Naaz in his corner definitely won't hurt him in the least bit... People forget how easy it is to land a huge right hand when you have a reach advantage and when you have stellar handspeed... Shane my be at a disadvantage in most areas... but power ain't one of them. Also, if he could land it against the best defensive fighter in boxing...who says he can't land it on a fighter who is also great but not necessarily defensively

Naz needs to stop making excuses. He wasn't crying about a 16 month layoff when they signed to fight Floyd. They were all talking about May 1st being May's 1st. And now all the sudden oh it's cause we had a 16 month layoff. Say what you want about Floyd but at least he gives credit where credit is due. Unlike these clowns in boxing.

Shane did a mistake by doing the random blood test which makes him stiff and slow during the Mayweather fight.

That would be awesome but Pac's feet are so freakin fast. It seems he's getting out of the way at the same time that he's coming in and throwing a combination. If Mosley could shock the world and win he could fight Martinez at 160 and walk away into the sunset win or loose a true atg.

Floyd took the same tests. What was his excuse for dominating Mosley? Mosley even rocked Floyd twice and couldn't seal the deal. Honestly, that's how I always saw a fight between Mosley and Floyd happening like that. Mosley is no good against boxers.

                Mosley

Naazim is a great trainer can't take nothing away from him. But no excuses for the Mayweather fight. He got beat to the punch, Mayweather mad adjustments and Mosley didn't . It's simple as that. He rocked Money twice, but Money did his thing and held on...As far as Margarito and Cotto, i dunno if u guys were watching the same fight...Cotto isn't the same fighter, Margarito will just go in there adn let u beat him senseless and still comes back for more..cotto can't handle it....

And to the guy that said drug tests made him stiff and slow..ur a clown

Unfortunately the excuses takes something away from Naaz. Instead of admitting defeat he makes excuses he knows damn well didn't matter. That fight showed why Shane never wanted it. I agree, Marg/Cotto was a battle of wills that Margz won. Cotto's defense is a problem for him that's where his weakness is. That and thinking he can steamroll everybody.

THE AGE!!! Blood test ruined MOSLEY because he is older and with more fights than FLOYD so obviously MOSLEY needed more time to recover!!!
