I think you should think really long and hard when deciding to make a post so you can actually give a clear and concise thought. I really have no idea what your point is. Are you saying fighters are deliberately sacrificing power for speed? Because that is pretty fucking ridiculous.

      Idk much bout that
But I did notice that a lot of the newer generation of boxers are becoming more defensive minded like more of the fundamentals added into their styles
      Or am I trippin?

Speed does kill and high speed chess is cool but when. Playing chess someones got to do something pity pats get old y'all know. And boxing is more then power but it would be nice to watch people fight again instead of just playing chess. that's what made the sport cool interesting boxers beating brawlers, brawlers brawling each other the rumble in the jungle thrila in Manila Burton vs Floyd those are fights we lack those.

It's an interesting point. But how consistent is training across the world? do you think it's because everyone watches the floyd mayweathers on tv?

I'd say Alexander does to his detriment.

He's pretty much a complete non-puncher based on his last two outings.

That despite nearly decapitating an iron-jawed Urango with single uppercut.

The guy looks like he pulls his punches. Odd.

I think his stronger hand is his jabbing hand. there are a few boxers like that around, making them smaller punchers, with undeveloped straight rights or lefts.

Yeah prbly it's just like carbon copies everywhere. It's just odd now it takes what made Floyd and defensive fighters special if everyone does it

I agree with Boomer. Me watching up n coming fighters of my own race. Examples like the Peterson brothers, Adrien broner or watching last weekend of the Martinez undercard of a fighter by the name of Derrick Wilson. These guys are faster than their opponents and land shots before their opponents could even lift a finger but they lack power and the crazy thing about is that they sit and **** in the pocket as if they carry excruciating power. Derrick Wilson was landing clean shots on the chin of Fortune and Fortune didnt even blink.

Now dont get me wrong speed is power but on the chart u cannot sacrifice power for just speed. It has to be a balance in the middle where u carry power and speed not just speed.

Fighters like Abraham wish they had speed, now that's a deadly combo. Though you do have to sacrifice some power in order to land the punches quickly, can't exactly load up on them.

i didn't know you could decide on which to have, you train your ass off, and in the ring punch as hard and fast as you can, now if you have power or no power or have speed or no speed, it's up to your genes
