speed is power, and power is speed. seriously, speed is just another form of power. but i know what you mean - fighters try to jump in and out and fire off quick eye catching combos, BUT they don't PUNCH THROUGH their targets. manny has been so successful because he does both, without having to sacrifice emphasis on one or the other.

Knockouts are good. So is high speed chess. If you want nothing but knockouts, watch highlight videos. Boxing is far more than just that.

Speed is needed to have real power 99.9% of the time. Martinez wouldn't have knocked out Williams if that punch was a slow, thudding shot. Margarito probably hit Williams "harder." However, the speed, plus the muscle and weight behind it created the power.
