Dizzy was just beaten (albeit at 160) and cotto is still a live dog who is being considered for Manny again after the Margy bout. A cotto win will do a LOT for Martinez's p4p ranking especially if he does it with ease. Margarito will do nothing for his p4p list.

HBO commentators said that Sergio doesn't want to fight Margarito because he thinks he would (seriously) hurt Margarito...... meaning, it would be a blow out.

So why aren't we talking about a Margarito vs Martinez bout? Martinez says he can make 154. Margarito is now fighting in 154. Margarito has a win over Martinez. Margarito is still a draw. Martinez should call out Margarito. I think it's a compelling bout. It has a story and it will make money. After Margarito beats Cotto the second time, which I think he will, they should try to make this fight at least. Martinez gets the money fight he's asking for and Margarito can redeem himself if he can defeat sexy the second time.

That's why a win over Cotto may make a fight vs Sergio compelling. Some people here even think Cotto is one of the top 154 pounders at the moment.

I agree with this 100%, believe me. But unfortunately neither does a win against Daniel Santos and Joel Julio.

Real boxing fans know who the cream of the crop is at 154, we have to just put that into account. Kirkland has only beaten Julio and Angulo lost when he stepped up against Cintron.

It wasn't margis chin that won him the fight. It was sergios lack of experience, confidence, and margis work rate among other things. It's a completley different story now. Sergio is seasoned, has huge wins under his belt, a load of confidence and is punching with crazy power now.

Margy on the other hand no longer works near as much in the ring as he use to (100+ a round), has been beaten pretty bad in his last 2 losses and looked terrible against a nobody in his comeback prior to pacman. THis is pointless and the chances of him winning are really really really slim. He's a ghost right now.

Without a doubt.. if margi wins that rematch then he's rejuvenated himself to be a worthwhile win for anyone again. ANd if Sergio doesn't take or look for the fight after that.. then we've got a blatant duck going on.
