but cmon, he beat a, for lack of a better word... nobody (Clottey: never won a big fight, only had one paper title win over a shot fighter) If beating the lineal 154 champ who had actually won title shots and had seven defenses with some of the better fighters of 154 over the last five years is worse than Clottey who had never won any of his big fights I don't know what to say.

It basically comes down to this, and only this. Pac has beaten guys with bigger names. Sadly, in boxing most people who don't know much about it equate bigger names to better wins. Pac has the bigger name wins. Sergio has the better wins over guys who were, at the time, better fighters. Although when you become a superstar, you become a name fighter just by fighting Pac ie. Clottey who has nothing in comparison to someone like Dzinziruk (who actually has beaten his biggest names and has many title defenses) and was lineal champion.

The weight disparity is the only thing that makes it even slightly close, but Pac and Cotto were the same size, Clottey was just **** and the weight killed him and Marg was also just ****.

For me, I think of it this way; in Pac's division there are lots of fighters who would have beaten Cotto, Clottey and Margarito when he fought them (as evidenced by all of them losing recent fight, two by brutal KO). There were very few, if any (apart from Martinez), who would have beaten Williams, Pavlik or Dzinziruk at those weights. They are just better wins.

Pac's are great in terms of legacy defining because of the weight, but it doesn't mean they were better fighters at that time. It's been done lots in history, though there were never fifty three paper titles to win in fights that should never have been for titles in divisions where fighters hadn't fought or won, shouldn't have been ranked and weren't any good.

Paul Williams beat Cotto? Seriously? Paul Williams chin is like Amir Khan before he was being trained by Freddie Roach. Kermit Cintron was winning against Paul Williams until he leap frogged. Paul Williams doesn't even use his size/reach advantages.

Can you name atleast 2 opponents Serhiy Dzinziruk has fought that everyone knew about that can give an opponent trouble? Clottey does have a great opposition that would trouble anyone.

Pavlik KO's Margarito is probably the only thing I can agree with.

I don't rate Dzinziruk (notable wins Joel Julio/Daniel Dawson) and Pavlik (notable wins Jermaine Taylor/Edison Miranda) highly.

Paul Williams however was a really good win.

But I think people are trashing Pac a bit too much now. The Shane fight is a ***in joke but I think the others are good wins.
