I would love to see Martinez vs. Froch. Carl can punch and can box but has a shaky defense. That would be a great fight, I think.

Strum is nothing, he gets steamrolled. Winky is an old man in the ring at this point, that guy doesnt train at all during his time off and hes like, 40 now. Andy Lee doesnt have **** for Martinez. I think everyone is gonna agree Pirog is the only guy right now.

Martinez's best possiabiltys are Pirog at 160 Ward or Bute at 168

          other possiable oppenets per division
          at light middleweight 154lbs
Manny Pacquiao- has bigger fish to fry as of right now
          Floyd Mayweather- legal problems
Miguel Cotto- appears likely heading towards a rematch with Margarito
Alfredo Angulo- has had visa problems not sure if that's cleared up yet
Saul Alvarez- still young would probably get rolled by Martinez

          at Middleweight 160lbs
Dmitry Pirog - likely to be the leading canidate for a July showdown with the lineal champ
Kelly Pavlik - could eventually look for a rematch with Martinez if Pavlik can regain his form
Felix Sturm- WBA titleholder. Refuses to fight outside of Germany
Sebastian Sylvester- IBF titleholder like sturm fights mostly in Germany
Sebastian Zbik - WBC champion denied as an opponent by HBO
JCC Jr. - WBC silver titlest. If Chavez defeats Zbik. Emiterius champ Martinez could choose to fight Chavez should ge defeat Zbik.

          At super middleweight 168
Andre Ward - in the super six semi finals could be tied up until 2012.
Lucian Bute - Also in the super six may not be avaiable until 2012.
Carl Froch - same as Ward and Bute
Andre Dirrell - could fight dirrell in the future. Needs a couple fights before a major fight
Mikkel Kessler - ageing kessler looking for the most money he can get
Arthur Abraham - if Abraham happenes to win the super six by a miracle then a good possiabilty

The front runners for a fight in July are Pirog 160 or Angulo at 154 if he can get his visa problems straightened out. The most profitiable fights could come at 168 pounds but Martinez wants to stay at 160lbs as of moment.

Another opponent I didn't list is James Kirkland if Kirkland can raze his quility of his opponents then maybe in 12 to 18 months be could be in the Sergio Martinez sweepstakes

Martinez' biggest tests lie at 168 in the form of Lucian Bute, Andre Ward, Andre Dirrell, and Carl Froch. I believe each of these fights would be FOTY stuff, save for Dirrell

No one at '54 can beat Martinez, though I'd like to see him end Cotto and Margarito's careers. Neither Mayweather nor Pacquiao will fight him at '54 either.

im not saying floyd WILL fight him, but IMO floyd beats him

and loki, you know i dont floyd

I wish some 168 pounds would call out Martinez to encourage him to move up in weight. They're going to need some mad trash talk to convince him. Or at least they could move down to fight Martinez.

I hate these suggestions that Sergio move up to 168, like that's a simple thing to do. He isn't big enough for 168, and it doesn't make him any less of a fighter if he chooses not to fight at an unfair weight disadvantage. People need to understand why weight classes exist.

At 160, I really don't see any competition for Sergio at all. A Kirkland fight would end just like Williams 2. At 154, I'd be curious to see maybe Erislandy Lara get a shot at him. Other than that, I'd pick him to slaughter everyone at Junior Middle too. Floyd and Pacquiao are too small to even discuss. It sucks that there is no one out there to challenge this great fighter right now.
