Someone break down the cotto-mayorga fight was it close??

Cotto dominated from a scoring ascpect. landing nice combos.

Mayorga had some spots with his overhand right and awkward uppercut.

He also landed a nice bodyshot in the 7th.

Cotto really took his time in the championship rounds and just threw his jab.

He landed a huge left hook in the 12th round and Mayorga went down with a phantom broke thumb. He got back up and took few punches and Mayorga complained about his hand and quit.

Basically Mayorga claimed he hurt his thumb, but in the replay it does not show that he landed anything with that hand. Plus in the post fight interview you could see him drinking water with that hand and cleaning his hear with that finger.

The fight was not close, Cotto dominated by boxing, Mayorga wanted to make it a brawl. Mayorga won 2 rounds.

Was not a close fight in any way. Cotto boxed well and traded shots with Mayorga constantly. It looked like the old Cotto was back.

Cotto is so powerful he can hit you in the face and dislocate your thumb, not even Chuck Norris can do that

not very close scoring wise, but Cotto got hit more and had more trouble than I expected.

Mayorga seemed to hurt Cotto in the 7th(not dramatically), where Cotto's legs stiffened up and he also ate a decent body shot that did show effect on him.

It didn't look good for Cotto. Mayorga was obviously past it but Cotto couldnt finish the job properly.
