Why are Pac/May expected to move up in weight but not Sexy Sergio?

Martinez-Mayweather
That's all I'm interested in seeing. Pirog would be nice but I'm not as convinced with him. Maybe he's elite, maybe he's not. We don't know.Comment

It's called money, you know.....what PRIZE FIGHTERS fight for?
Money is the name of the game, Martinez is willing to fight anyone but he (like every single boxer alive) wants that big paycheck.
He's 36 years old and no matter how good of shape he is in, his time is almost up in this game. He started late in boxing and wants to make his money now while he can.
Who is going to pay to see him fight Pirog? LOL seriously......Comment

Yes, you figured it out. Martinez needs to prove his P4P status by beating up smaller fighters. If Pac or May sign to fight him, I think that's excellent. But considering what size everyone is, I don't hold it against them for not fighting him. Pac has clearly maxed out at this time on his weight class considering he didn't even use the entire 150 lbs, which isn't even the full 154 lbs.Comment

You're right, continue calling out smaller fighters and ignore that their is a jam packed weight division directly above you. Sucks MW doesn't have strong competition, but that's the reality. Martinez is peaking now and considering his age only has so much time to polish his resume.Comment

A career JMW that's been at MW for like 5 minutes. I'm sure he'd have to make a ton of money for what would likely be a career ending fight at SMW. He is in a spot where there aren't anymore proven MWs or even JMWs out there for him to fight.
A Mayweather fight would be competitive, Pac fight would look ridiculous and IMO not so much.Comment

I think people need to realize that without Mayweather and Pac, boxing is in serious trouble. These are the only two names a casual fan may be able to recognize, so you hear it a lot, even when it's not warranted. Nonito Donaire wins, the questions about how would he fair against Pac are asked of him. Sergio wins and he speaks on the two guys that can get him off of HBO Boxing after Dark. It's a business, and I think fans get confused by that....only when it's someone they don't like. So when I hear Pac fans justifying why Pac shouldn't fight Sergio (he did win a "154 lb" belt so that's not a stretch for Pac) it makes me laugh. No matter how laughable it was when people spoke on Mayweather, his distractors used it as fuel for who he's ducking. When Cotto was fresh from getting off the canvas against Torres people ignored his obvious flaws and talked themselves into thinking he was the dragon slayer all because Arum called Mayweather's name. When Margarito was fresh off of ESPN and losing his "showcase" fight against Williams, people still believed there was $8 million that Mayweather ran from (even though at his apex, post Cotto fight, Arum only gave him $1.5 million and a total $4 million for the entire purse while Margarito was on the A-side...but we were supposed to believe there was $8 million for a non Top Rank opponent when Margarito was fresh off of Friday Night Fights...sure) all because Arum said Mayweather's name. So Pac fans get used to it. Pac is now being viewed as the "opponent" from bums, green fighters, to even heavier fighters, all in search of that payday. Take it with a grain of salt. Sergio knows he'll never get the fight, but it never hurts to ask.Comment

but both floyd and pacquaio are not elite at 154.
They both didn't feel comfortable making one 154 and went back down to 147.
Pacquaio couldn't even make 150 at fight night......what makes you think he can make 154.Comment
