I see it the same way, but I'm not part of Kirkland's development team.

It would be kind of like putting Canelo in w/Cotto this year.

Either fight would probably end in highlight-reel fashion, but might not be entirely fair to the youngsters involved.

donaire has won flyweight and bantamweight titles.
jmm has won featherweight, super featherweight, and lightweight titles.
all 3 have won titles in 3 weight classes, and all are on the p4p list.
just because they don't have as much belts as pacquiao, doesn't mean they need to continue to move up in weight to please you clowns...
bradley and juanma lopez have only had two weight classes, klitscko only one, theyre on some p4p lists...
may and pac have both had fights within the light middleweight division. both are standing in his way of p4p supremacy, and martinez can go to 154 if its a big fight like that...you're an idiot.

No ones said he isn't expected to move up in weight, all they said was they don't think he's going to. Roy suggested he move up, Jim Lampley suggested he move up specifically to fight Andre Ward.

And if u ask me, I think him and Arthur Abraham should go at it soon. Assuming Abraham doesn't win the tourney, a drop in weight feels to me like a good call

Are you really a boxing fan? Or just a Pacquiao hater? It was all over the net when he and his team said that he's going back to 147, no more fights over that weight limit. It was right after the Margarito fight, A WEEK before the Maravilla/PWill fight.

Here's the Pacquiao vs Margarito postfight presscon (7:20) video fool

Beating AA does what? What has AA accomplished that should motivate Martinez to move up? How much credit would he really get from that?

Yeah he is, look at the size of Hopkins as a MW, or Pavlik..

He's smallish as a MW... He's not a large MW by any chance.

However, with that said I think he should be held to the same standard as Pacquiao and Mayweather. If they are expected to move up in weight and fight JMWs and MWs, it's only fair Martinez be expected to fight Super Middle Weights. Is Martinez a small MW? Yes, but Pac and Mayweather are not big for their weight classes either.

A measure of a fighters P4P ability is being able to span weight classes.. I think Martinez' claim for the #1 and 2 P4P spots will be more credible once we see how he handles a Super Middle Weight. How do people feel about Martinez's responsibility and abilities above 160?
I agree completely i made a thread about Sergio vrs Johnson at 168 and some found it ubsurd,i cannot see why i think it would be one hell of a fight between two of the hardest workers in the sport.
