Cotto did well and boxed the way he wanted to box but he's just not the same fighter he was 2-3 years ago.

I think it's how Steward wanted him to play it. Slowly pick the other guy apart and don't let him bait you into anything foolish. Mayorga had no choice but to hope Cotto fell into a trap. Bottom line, Cotto got the TKO. he made Mayorga feel pain in his arm/hand with that hook.

This is how i saw it. Everyone knows i love Cotto but one thing he does that i feel he shouldnt is admire his work, he will throw a shot or two and just step back and take a look instead of following it up, just like the triple jab he landed on Mayorga but failed to come with the right

Yeah, i agree there were a few times he could have followed up on a few nice jabs with that "improved right hand" (shoulder surgery), but didn't. I think a few times he was a bit overcautious, but stayed very focused on his own gameplan.

I give him a lot of credit for not fighting Mayorga's fight. Cotto's a good boxer. Great Jab, just needs to follow through on those opportunities, like AllEyesOpen said. He can afford to take a few more well calculated chances, but did what needed to get the job done. Kudos to both guys. Great fight.
