Cotto seemed weird during the Mayorga fight

Was it just me or did anyone else notice that Cotto seemed hesitant to let his hands go in the fight last night? And im not talking about him not engaging when Mayorga was goading him, i just mean he wasnt as active as usual and didnt look as confident. Maybe i was reading to much into it. What you guys think?

He picked his spots, not be overly aggresive as usual

Mayorga has power, dont want to stand and trade with someone like him.

I thought he picked his spots well and boxed effectively, but Mayorga was open for a lot of shots that Cotto didn't take advantage of.

Get used to it, it's the new Miquel Cotto. He fought very cautiously and tenative and threw few body punches. He's boxes more and doesn't dish out punishment like he used to...

I was actually surprised that Miguel traded so much in the first two rounds with Mayorga, I expected him to be more careful. Thats what impressed me, he traded and came out on top in most exchanges. He was particularly impressive in the first half of the fight.

He threw a lot more body shots than some of his more recent fights.

I think he was conserving his energy late and was just throwing his jab.

The 7th round may have made him weary of opening up.

He looked to have a good amount of energy in the 12th.

Or it could have been adrenaline from the knockdown.

He wasn't on his bike as much like late in the Clottey and Pac fights. Very good.

He is way more cautious now. I think it has to do with a new boxing fighting style taught by Steward and the fact that he carries more weight, resulting in less stamina.

he did say he felt it every time Mayorga landed a punch, so i think he didnt want get caught by any of ****** **** so he decided to outbox him. hes done it before, like against mosley and Abdullayev
