Was it just me or did anyone else notice that Cotto seemed hesitant to let his hands go in the fight last night? And im not talking about him not engaging when Mayorga was goading him, i just mean he wasnt as active as usual and didnt look as confident. Maybe i was reading to much into it. What you guys think?
Cotto seemed weird during the Mayorga fight

I thought he picked his spots well and boxed effectively, but Mayorga was open for a lot of shots that Cotto didn't take advantage of.Comment

I was actually surprised that Miguel traded so much in the first two rounds with Mayorga, I expected him to be more careful. Thats what impressed me, he traded and came out on top in most exchanges. He was particularly impressive in the first half of the fight.

He threw a lot more body shots than some of his more recent fights.
I think he was conserving his energy late and was just throwing his jab.
The 7th round may have made him weary of opening up.
He looked to have a good amount of energy in the 12th.
Or it could have been adrenaline from the knockdown.
He wasn't on his bike as much like late in the Clottey and Pac fights. Very good.Comment
