Cotto looked Shot? What Fight Were You watching?

Cotto did not looked awesome but by no means he looked like a shot fighter. That was probably the best Mayorga we seen since the two Forrest fights and Cotto gameplan was to box Mayorga and not fall in Mayorgas game of brawling. Mayorga was actually trying to move away most of the time to catch Cotto coming in with counters and brawls so getting an early KO against a fighter with a good chin who is bigger and punches hard is tough. Mayorga also looked ****ing fast so stop the BS. Cotto looked good against a naturally bigger man who punches hard and actually came in in shape.

Agreed. I don't know what is up with these haters but *** em. Miguel fought a good and composed fight. Of course he was going to get hit, that's what Mayorga does. Mayorga throws all types of crazy **** and some are bound to land. I actually thought Miguel looked like he progressed from the Foreman fight. Steward is doing a good job. IMO, Miguel looks almost as good as when he did pre Margarito and will be the reason he demolishes him in June. Margaritos chin is cracked and his work rate is much lower. Cotto will take him apart in the rematch.

I got back on the Cotto train after watching this fight. He looked really good. Martinez-Cotto 2 would be excellent. I also don't think Mayorga retires. We'll see him again, and as long as he trains for his future fights like he did for this one, I'm all for it.

I was delighted to see Cotto fight like how he did. Foreman just showed his defense and footwork improvements. This fight showed his chin when a strong guy hit him and roughened him up.
        Margarito beware.

its not the fact that he got hit its the fact that he got hit with the same overhand right over and over again.. and mayorga does throw alot of crazy **** but its all wide, telegraphed punches and he needs to have u right in front of him and his feet set to let em go.

i expected cotto to turn him and not let him get of that many punches, and when mayorga did punch get out of the way of much more than he did.

i think saying cotto looked shot is an overstatement too but he didnt look good at all, i think hes done as an elite fighter. has been ever since the margarito fight, when matched well he can still win fights but lets be honest. prime cotto wouldve walked right through mayorga in a few rounds.

Cotto is not shot. He didn't look his best, but damn, he had a long layoff and surgery. Mayorga also looked better than he has in a while.

Yea, a lot of people saying he didn't look to good. I'm about to watch the fight in a little bit. I will reserve my comments until I see the fight myself.
