Forget about Sturm, he's not ready to cash in. He just signed a multi-fight (7?) multi-million dollar TV contract after the Hearns fight because of the huge ratings he does in Germany fighting the Ronald Hearns' of the world. He's now rumored to be fighting Peter Manfredo next, Martinez isn't on the man's radar.

Considering he keeps destroying top tier opposition, I doubt the line is long.

JCC Jr., Cotto, and Margarito (3 of the biggest names in the division) can hide behind Arum (who isn't afraid to make excuses to duck a fighter), Canelo is too young to be scarred for life and will have GBP using the Top Rank strategy, and I just don't see too many promoters, managers, and advisers wanting to touch Martinez unless they're looking to cash out.

Martinez might be reduced to the Cintron's of the world until someone steps up. The only one I can see stepping up is Pirog, which is a great fight, but no exposure.

Wrong. A fight against Cotto would be a lot more profitable for both him and Cotto. They are going to fight in the fall this year. Remember who told you.

Also lol at you people saying that Martinez would beat Sturm easy seriously what the hell makes you think that? Sturm could very easily beat Martinez, Sturm is the bigger fighter and just as fast. I doubt you people have even seen Sturm fight and just assume he has fought bums.

sturm-fight will never happen. sturm is making millions in germany fighting bums.

sylvester-same thing as sturm but sturm already schooled him so no point.

pirog-dibella doesn't want this fight. must be too dangerous. they picked dzinziruk over pirog for a reason.

golovkin-seems to be on an endless bum parade

ndjikam-seems to be on an endless bum parade

lemieux-wants the fight soon but he wont get it if he keeps destroying everyone

            cintron-already got schooled

cotto-no chance and arum will never do it

angulo-already turned it down wants no part of martinez

kirkland-might be possible after a couple more fights but if he keeps destroying everyone he won't get it

            peter manfredo jr-available!

nah man who the **** is gonna want to fight him
when your fighting sergey dzinziruk your promoter is crap, i mean thats like the most high risk low reward fight out there
imo he should go for hopkins when he wins the rematch against pascal, sergio is small but he can take the 47 year old man

With the kind of performances Martinez had put on as of late, HBO might step up their game. Martinez fights top notch opponents and makes exciting fights, hes also got a great deal of buzz around him. Something to consider.

Um, maybe because Sturm is garbage in comparison to the elite, where as Martinez has proven to be a special fighter and his cleaning out the division. Sturm struggles with and has been stopped by ordinary fighters in recent years.

In a perfect world, I'd like to see Chavez-Martinez (easy pay day for Martinez but a fun fight nonetheless) and Pirog-Kirkland on a HBO doubleheader in the summer with the winners facing off at the end of the year. I know, I know, this is an unrealistic plan.......
This would be a top rank ppv.
