Forget about Sturm, he's not ready to cash in. He just signed a multi-fight (7?) multi-million dollar TV contract after the Hearns fight because of the huge ratings he does in Germany fighting the Ronald Hearns' of the world. He's now rumored to be fighting Peter Manfredo next, Martinez isn't on the man's radar.
Considering he keeps destroying top tier opposition, I doubt the line is long.
JCC Jr., Cotto, and Margarito (3 of the biggest names in the division) can hide behind Arum (who isn't afraid to make excuses to duck a fighter), Canelo is too young to be scarred for life and will have GBP using the Top Rank strategy, and I just don't see too many promoters, managers, and advisers wanting to touch Martinez unless they're looking to cash out.
Martinez might be reduced to the Cintron's of the world until someone steps up. The only one I can see stepping up is Pirog, which is a great fight, but no exposure.
