Cotto is absolutely past it. If there was any speculation (which there wasn't really) there certainly isn't now.

What was true about what he said? Cotto is still in his early 30's, still has his legs. Sparring session? Mayorga was throwing bombs the whole fight trying to get a K.O

cotto is a great fighter, and i think if he wasn't nearing the end of his career, he wouldve been fighting a better opponent. seriously, im a cotto fan too, but wtf, how did mayorga land a shot with him? hopefully cotto's performance against margs is better if they rematch. but don't knock tyson man, dude is just being real, like JMM was with canelo/hatton, plus tyson's career ****s on cotto's and mayorga's combined.

He said both fighters aren't in thier primes and look unlikely there going to end it. At that point it didn't look likely either fighter was going to stop the other.

Cotto is in his early 30's...Ok. So? That doesn't change the fact he's clearly past his prime...
