martinez should forget about mayweather and pacquiao, dude is doing great without him. i thought the idea of him fighting pirog or kirkland would be awesome, i think they should meet and the winner takes martinez. great performance by sergio, he is p4p #1 in my book. manny needs to do something great like his fights against hatton or cotto.

Martinez should be clearing out his own division, starting with Sturm. Or if he wants a bigger challenge, he could fight Bute. But it's absolutely ridiculous that the World Middleweight champion only wants to fight people from much lower weight classes. Weight classes exist for a reason, and if he really wants to fight Welterweights, especially undersized ones, he should boil down to 147.
he can fight a WW at 54, you dumbass. he cant make 47. 54 is plenty good

If you were guaranteed 5 to 10 million to fight one of these welter weights you would too. Sergio is 36, he's not a young buck and he wants a pay day. You can't blame him for that.

And what would a fight against Sturm do for Sergio? He'll beat him down just like SD.

Dzenzurik vs Pirog would be awesome.

Pac is fighting above his natural weight even when he fights Welterweights and has made it clear that he won't fight above 147 again. And Martinez is the World Middleweight champion, FFS, but doesn't want to fight any Middleweights, which is ridiculous and devalues his belt.

Great champions fight the top contenders - that's what great champions do. And Sturm is the clear #1 contender in the Middleweight division. If he beats Sturm down just like Dzinziruk, that would add far more to his legacy as a great Middleweight champion than beating an undersized Welterweight who is a natural Jr Welterweight. And Sturm is much more of a threat at Middleweight than Dzinziruk in any case.

After that, if he wants more of a challenge, he could fight Bute. Calling out much smaller fighters is not what great champions do. The P4P myth has got completely out of hand.
