I can't believe people think Mayweather would have just embarrassed Margarito back in 2005 or 2006. If Mayweather had fought Margarito at any point before the Cotto fight, it would have been one of the toughest fights of his career. Margarito would have had that hell bent on destruction type mentality he brought into the ring against Cotto, and Floyd would have had to be as slick as he has ever been.

Margarito is big, relentless, strong, knows how to back fighters into the ropes, and refused to let his opponents get comfortable. Mayweather wouldn't have been able to hurt him, would not have been able to stand in front of him, and would have had a hard time circling him without ending up on the ropes where Margarito could do damage. At the very least, Mayweather gets busted up and really has to work for the win.
